Hope the game project is going good for you. Any idea when we might hear some news about its progress?
 I suppose this is a good time to mention the armadillo’s name is Murray  1) This is one of those things which depends on how the Kickstarter goes. I’d like to at least have little grunts and “yeas” and all that. Full voice acting during the cutscenes would be great, though, if we get the money for it! 2) They keep the swords they start out with, but they get to upgrade them as the game progresses. 3) Just the fairies. This is something I decided early on, really. I’d like the princesses to form a bit of a tighter relationship with their partners than Mario did with his. A camaraderie, if you will. And it’s easier to do when they don’t have teammates being replaced and shifted around with other teammates. 4) The princesses stay as physical fighters while the fairies do the magic, and they’ll learn new moves, attacks, and combos. There is a bit of magic they’ll get to use, though, where they call upon the help of the other princess in a way that’s a bit hard to describe. I may have mentioned that already though. Eventually I’ll make a post elaborating on it a bit. 5) Eight 6) This is another thing I will make a post about sometime in the future. Once I work out exactly who needs to be hired I’ll be putting out a call for it. In the meantime, everyone interested in doing work is free to send an email to me. We’ll try to answer a few more later today!  1) I would like it to be as 2d as humanly possible 2) that’s the idea! making a game all by myself is technically an option, but it sould probably take about 30 years 3) Trying to conceive of something attainable by a small developer is tricky. Having something like 6 maps (some of which can eventually be explored by both princesses) and a “hub” level for each princess sounds nice, but I imagine it’d be quite a lot of work. A good solution would be to release the games as episodes, like a lot of small developers do… as long as it’s not too hard to connect the games, and have items/levels/etc transfer over! But then that would force the player to buy them sequentially, wouldn’t it? And the Telltale games are all pretty self-contained. Hmm… 4) I would definitely be lying if I said both those events didn’t jump-kick my brain into trying this sort of thing! The Doublefine story in particular is pretty inspiring, because this is a company who was once known for releasing a failed game, you know? But damned if the cult following of Psychonauts didn’t snowball into something huge. 5) Indeed I am aiming to have a Bowser-like red herring (but not TOO much like Bowser of course) 6) It would be mostly silly. Probably sillier than Paper Mario, even. But with more romance!  Off to a good start! Not every question will be answered this way, only the lucky ones. |
